Eyetas Pharmaceutical-Grade Fish Oil
Eyetas is a pharmaceutical-grade fish oil supplement, rich in “essential” omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs), including eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), in the form of ethyl esters. These PUFAs cannot be synthesised by the human body in significant amounts and therefore they must be supplied through diet.
Scientific Research:
Eicosapentaenoic acid-rich omega-3 fatty acids supplementation may improve vision in dry age-related macular degeneration or Stargardt disease, as shown in MADEOS, a prospective, randomized, multicentre, double-blind, placebo-controlled pilot study (Access Study)
Omega-3 fatty acids promote neuroprotection, decreased apoptosis and reduced glial cell activation in the retina of a mouse model of OPA1-related autosomal dominant optic atrophy (Access Study)
Omega-3 fatty acids supplementation protects the retina from age-associated degeneration in aged C57BL/6J mice (Access Study)
